Shipping - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Contingency Plan and Guidelines

Contingency Plan and Guidelines

This plan applies to all ships under the Dutch flag, including fishing trawlers with a length above 75 metres.

Due to the coronavirus, it may be more difficult for shipping companies to comply with applicable government requirements. For example, because they are no longer allowed to carry out inspections on board or have them carried out, certificates can no longer be issued. Challenges may also be encountered with regard to keeping crew documents valid (for example: certificates of competency and medical examinations).

That is why, in consultation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW), it was decided to draw up a plan that indicates how to deal with such situations.
