Commercial Cruising Vessels (CCVs) navigating the waterways of the Netherlands must comply with specific requirements. The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) oversees compliance.

Commercial Cruising Vessels (CCVs) are:

  • Seagoing passenger ships.
  • Longer than 12 metres.
  • Intended for commercial use.
  • Designed and built for recreational use by passengers.
  • Either predominantly mechanically powered, carrying a maximum of 12 passengers,
  • Or predominantly sail-powered, carrying a maximum of 36 passengers.

The rules for registration and listing of merchant vessels apply to CCVs. Read more about the rules for Commercial Cruising Vessels.
