The ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat (Ministry of of Infrastructure and Water Management) has appointed the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) to issue recognitions to recognised bodies based on the Regulation concerning recognised bodies for the transport of dangerous goods. The regulation covers transport operations via road, rail, inland waterways and sea.

Regulated transport operations

Do you want to apply for recognition to perform one or more activities based on the regulations for the transport of dangerous goods? Such as inspection and certification of packaging, pressure containers and tanks or other activities? Check whether they fall within the Regeling erkende instanties vervoer gevaarlijke stoffen (Regulation on recognised bodies for the transport of dangerous goods, in Dutch).

For classifying dangerous solid bulk cargo and issuing cargo certificates, the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes Code (IMSBC-Code) applies.

Transportable pressure equipment regulation

The ILT has been appointed by the Ministry to grant recognitions based on the Regeling vervoerbare drukapparatuur 2011 (Staatscourant No. 10390, Regulation on Transportable Pressure Equipment 2011). This falls under the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (2010/35/EU) for the transport and usage of this equipment. You apply for this recognition at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.

The ILT has been designated as the market regulator on the basis of this regulation.
