The Company Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for the security of a seagoing vessel on behalf of the managing owner. If the CSO's details change, you, as the managing owner of a seagoing vessel flying the Dutch flag, must notify the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) of the change.

When to notify the ILT

You must report changes in the contact details of the CSO to the ILT as soon as possible. To ensure the information remains up to date, you must resubmit all details fully, even if only 1 detail changes.

Requirements

  • The notifier must be the managing owner.
  • The seagoing vessel must fly the Dutch flag.
  • A CSO has been designated to the seagoing vessel in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code).
  • All details must be current and complete.
  • There must be at least 2 and no more than 3 CSOs registered per seagoing vessel.

After submitting your notification

  1. You will receive an automatic confirmation email with the registration number of your notification.
  2. The ILT will assess your notification and review the notification form.
  3. If the form has been completed incorrectly or incompletely, the ILT will ask you to provide additional information within a specific deadline.
