Safety at sea and in ports

The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) oversees the safety of seagoing vessels and ports in the Netherlands. This oversight consists of vlaggenstaatinspecties (Flag State Control, FSC) for vessels sailing under the Dutch flag and havenstaatcontrole (Port State Control, PSC) for vessels registered outside the Netherlands. In municipalities with a seaport, the ILT also inspects the havenveiligheidsplan (Port Facility Security Plan, PFSP).
