Required documents IMDG
The transport of dangerous goods requires the necessary documentation, specifying what the load consists of and what quantities are transported. The IMDG Code indicates what information must be reported.

Minimum information needed
The documentation needs to contain at least the following information:
- the correct transport name
- class and sub-class (if applicable)
- UN number, preceded by the letters UN
- packaging group (if applicable)
- number and type of package and total number of dangerous goods
Additional requirements
Furthermore, chapter 5.4 of the IMDG Code stipulates a number of additional requirements concerning the transport documents, which refer to the following:
- waste materials
- heated goods
- infectious goods
- radioactive goods
- limited quantities
- salvage packaging
- empty, unclean packaging and tanks
In the documentation, dangerous goods are indicated before non-dangerous goods. The dated and signed consignor declaration indicates that all regulations have been followed.
Dangerous goods in freight containers or vehicles should be accompanied by a container/vehicle load certificate, which must state that the goods have been inspected, loaded and secured in a suitable means of transport in accordance with regulations.
