If you want to fly independently in a sailplane or Touring Motor Glider (TMG) in the Netherlands, you need a sailplane pilot licence (SPL). You can also apply for an amendment or reissue of your SPL. If you, as a sailplane pilot, have a licence with one or more ratings, you can revalidate or renew these ratings.
Forms for examiners
The Civil Aviation Authority the Netherlands (CAA NL), part of the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT), issues SPLs in the Netherlands. Below you will find the required forms and documents for the examination, application and amendment of SPLs.

FI(S) instructor ratings
The table below indicates which privileges are specified on an SPL and which are not. Some privileges are displayed on the licence, while others are not. Privileges such as launch methods, aerobatic flights, sailplane cloud flying and passenger flights are not shown on the licence.
The Head of Training (HT) or the instructor responsible for the training records the completion of the training in the logbook. For instructors, 'FI(S)' behind Flight Instructor (Sailplane) specifies the privileges they are authorised to teach.
